Cinecall Soundtracks News
Welcome to the new site launch of Cinecall Soundtracks. Look here for all the latest goings on as we place and feature new music in all forms of media broadcasting.
See our newly revised "Artist of the Month" page. We naturally will be changing this monthly.

Back from Mexico

The crew of Cinecall Productions was down in the Yucatan peninsula, deep in the jungle, shooting a video for the Sol Solution Project. Watching George McMorrow repel through the top of a 50 ft cenote was nerve-racking enough. He did learn a great life-lesson, "Drink plenty of water". Shooting in a Mayan village gave everyone a new prospective on life. They had no electricity and the kids actually liked helping out with chores. It made us feel bad about complaining about our food being not hot enough (but we still did.) Look here for future updates and how to get involved to help our planet.

Congratulations to Steve Forbert and John Eddie

Steve Forbert has two songs the new Nicole Kidman / Jack Black movie, "Margot at the Wedding". Look for the latest Steve Forbert DVD "Live from the Tavern" which was edited by our very own George McMorrow.

John Eddie has a song on Kid Rock's new CD. Which happens to be #1 at this time. That boy is on fire.

Cinecall Productions News

Cinecall has become a full production and post production studio. Our latest projects include working on productions for Prudential, BMW, National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and Indie Movie shorts and features. Cinecall has just finished a music video for Steve Forbert. "My Seaside Browneyed Girl" with George McMorrow directing and editing, Larry Gress director of photography and Rich Hall on camera. See it on the web at SteveForbert.com We are now in pre-production for the short film "Bye Bye Baby". We are starting production on a feature "The Jersey Boy" in the very near future.

Upcoming Projects

George McMorrow has been working on a new video for guitar great Jon Tropea. Tropea has been in the studio working on his upcoming album. The tentative name is Jon Tropea 10 "The Time is right". The studio was filled with the "A-team" of studio jazz cats. Steve Gadd, Will Lee, Leon Pendarvis, Ron Kuber, Don Harris, "Blue" Lou Marini just to name a few. I think that the release date is set for early spring.

Film and Video Tranfers

Cinecall Productions has always been a great source for getting your transfers from 16mm, 8mm, Photographs (both digital and the old standard paper kind) and tape format to DVD. We make a nice montage of the material and it is a great way to archive your memories. We even digitally repair and color correct the pictures, if you want. Anyway, it fills the gaps and helps our interns develop a skill that they can fall back on, or impress their family at reunions.

Cinecall finishes music videos

The John Eddie Band, The Billy Hector Band, and the great Steve Forbert are among the DVDs released over the past year. All are available in stores and at the artists respective web sites.  Cinecall wishes to congratulate Glen Burtnik on the release of his CD  "Welcome to Hollywood". George McMorrow directed the "Heart in 3" video that is included on the DVD.  George James was the co-director .

Other video projects that Cinecall Productions are involved with are The Original Blues Brothers Band, The Celtic Fiddling phenomena Eileen Ivers and a non-music DVD on Firefighters Life Safety Initiatives commissioned by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The DVD will be sent to all of the firehouses in the U.S.

McMorrow films F. Murray Abraham

George McMorrow was honored to be in charge of video production for the Actors Equity meeting that allowed 18 members a chance to buy a condo in New York for cost. Out of the over 700 applicants, F. Murray Abraham picked 60 names of the lucky people to be inline to purchase the condos. Its great that someone has the insight to allow the up and coming New York talent to be able to get affordable housing.

Mr. Abraham was extremely pleased to see that the second name called belonged to a couple that were in attendance. Unfortunately, there was only one other person that was at the meeting.

Josh Collins-Beldin, an intern from High Tech High in Lincroft, NJ., assisted McMorrow in the video shoot. F. Murray was more than happy to give Josh a photo opportunity and posed with him

Cinecall supplies music for "Grace and the Storm"

George McMorrow is Music Supervisor on the latest film from Director Christopher Baldi. The Suspense/ Drama is currently on the festival circuit, but I hear that a distribution deal is not far off. Check back to get the latest updates.

Cinecall Adds Film Editing and Video Production to its Repertoire

We are getting to be a full service stop and shop. We do most of our film  production stuff in-house.  We have been running at peak capacity for a while, but isn't that why they have nights and weekends. We will always help with at least a few minutes of advice.

Cinecall Music Videos

We have just completed production on a pair of music videos for Glen Burtnik. Glen is now with his own band, after being with uber group Styx for quite a few years. We are also in the middle of filming and producing two DVDs. One is for the great blues guitarist Billy Hector. Billy is going to be featured  with Hubert Sumlin and Levon Helm in Howlin Wolf tribute band at the Chicago Blues festival. We are also doing a DVD for the Jerry Topinka Band. We have also been doing the video production for the "Writers in the Raw" series at the famous "Harry's Roadhouse" in Asbury Park, New Jersey. George McMorrow was one of the cameramen for a John Eddie   project shot  in New York City.

McMorrow is celebrity presenter at GSFF

I was actually very honored to be asked to present the best music video award at the "Garden State Film Festival" in Asbury Park, New Jersey. It was a well run festival, and I got a chance to talk to hang out with old friend the late great Robert Pastorelli. He had a pretty solid list of films and television shows. Check pix on our shameless self-promotion page

George McMorrow featured in "Film Festival Today" Magazine

Look for a feature article on George at FFT magazine. It is available at most major film festivals. I got mine at Sundance. It is a piercing in-depth article.

Cinecall places music in Scream Queen

"I'll Get By" written and produced by Lorenzo Conte and Tracy Lande of Trenz Music and performed by Miko was featured in  Scream Queen, a timeless tale about love, dreams, and fake blood. Special thanks go out to writer, director, and producer  Tatianna Bliss. Check out the website at www.screamqueenthemovie.com

New "New Artists" section

Cinecall welcomes new artist "JP Savino / Utopian Sky" to our family of musicians. Check out the eclectic, ethereal sounds that just scream out for soundtrack and score.  Eddie "Keys" Allen also adds his musical expertise to the Cinecall Ranks.

"Just Lovers" wins "Best Score in a Feature Film" and "Best Film Noir" at New York International Independent Film and Video Festival

"Just Lovers", a Fiesty Films Production, written and produced by Andrea Stein and Directed by Doug Bollinger takes home two awards at NYIIFVF.

"Getting the award for best score is really quite an honor", said George McMorrow, music supervisor of the movie. "I enjoyed being involved with such a quality film. I was also very happy to get Steve Greenwell in  on the project as composer. When I saw that it ("Just Lovers") had also taken the award for Best Film Noir, I was not a bit surprised. The film is a high quality romantic suspense drama with a great soundtrack. Also the inimitable Robert Maloney did a bang-up job as Editor.

George McMorrow is Freedom Film Society's Director of Operations

Taking the helm for future film festival events, George McMorrow was named Director of Operations for the Freedom Film Society.

"I appreciate their confidence in me", said McMorrow. "I will try to use my experience as a concert and event promoter to help make sure that things run smoothly. The group is highly motivated and savvy, with a track record of two very successful film festivals. I am looking forward to working with them on this level".

OMC Wins Best Feature at RBIFF

Well, 3:30pm on Thursday was a tough time to show a movie that is as funny and intense as "Operation Midnight Climax". But, Operation Midnight Climax was up for the the challenge. The Star/Co-Director/Co-Writer of the movie, Will Keenan, was in attendance for a Q&A or photo op. All for the meager price of admission at the Red Bank Int. Film Fest. Clearview Cinema 36 White St, Red Bank NJ

Another Success Story

Cinecall Soundtracks is happy to announce the placement of artist James Cohen's music in the beautiful documentary "Thely".

A Full Page Article on George McMorrow in the Times.

Actually, its the Two River Times, owned by no other than TV personality, Geraldo Rivera. Wow, its hard to believe that they could do justice with an article on George McMorrow, but considering that they used a full page story (not even an ad to share the page), it was a pretty good job. Our deepest gratitude goes out to Kerri Danskin, the author of the piece and Danny Sanchez, who could even make George look good.   It is on "The Scene" page, the August 23-30th issue. Or if you want, you can see it on our press page

OMC Wins Best Feature

Cinecall was proud to be one of the sponsors of the 2006 Red Bank International Film Festival. It is presented by the Freedom Film Society. It was from August 21 to 25. The kick off party was at The Count Basie Theater. Since August 21st was Count Basie's Birthday, and since he came from Red Bank, the music was supplied by The Sun Ra Arkestra. It was a wild night that ended with a parade New Orleans style over to the movie theater.

Operation Midnight Climax won Best Feature. We are looking forward to The Woodstock Film Festival and The Hamptons Film Festival.

Also, adding to sponsor list for a great goody package to the winner of the festival are the people from Kodak. I see as soon as they joined us, Kodak stock has taken off. Coincidence, I don't know.

OMC takes BIFF

Hoverground's "Operation Midnight Climax" won the audience award for best feature at the Brooklyn International Film Festival. OMC features the music of Chris Corley and also a song by Steve Greenwell. Our congratulations go out to our good friends, Will Keenan and Gadi Harel the brilliant team that wrote, produced and directed OMC.

"Just Lovers" wins top honors at two film festivals

"Just Lovers" has won both the 2002 Myhelan Film Festival and the FirstGlance Philadelphia Film Festival. Producer Andrea Stein seems to be unstoppable in the festivals. George McMorrow was Music Supervisor for the Fiesty Films Production of the feature film "Just Lovers". Steve Greenwell was the composer and did a incredible job scoring the film. An anticipated release date is set for the  summer of 2002. The "Just Lovers" soundtrack has included more than a dozen Cinecall artists and groups. In the near future, look for the soundtrack CD on the Ratamacue label.  Check back here soon and we will keep you informed of any future developments. Look for us to use as many artists as we can from the Cinecall database on the soundtrack.

"Passing Stones" gets dist. deal from IFC

"Passing Stones" has decided to go with the deal from IFC. Click on film title to see show times.  Cinecall is very proud to supply music for the feature . This movie has to be one of the funniest movies we have seen. Filmmakers and screenwriters should take note. This is how dialog should be written. It funny, smooth, well paced, and flows so naturally from the characters that you would think that you're back in your own dysfunctional childhood. Do yourself a favor and watch for this movie playing on the Independent Film Channel.

"Waiting" Released on Video/ DVD on November 6

Wow, when it rains, it pours. Cinecall Soundtracks  has placed four songs in the award winning (Audience Award/ Best Feature NoDance Film Fest and Audience Award/Best Feature- Williamsburg Brooklyn Film Fest) feature movie "Waiting" starring Will Keenan (Best Actor- Williamsburg Brooklyn Film Festival). The film has distribution and will be released November 8, 2001 on video and DVD. Look for the New York City movie dates on this web page.

Vinny Daniele has climbed aboard the Cinecall Soundtrack Train. Vinny has a great rock history as the bass player and lead singer with the band  "Cats on a Smooth Surface" a/k/a "Cats" , which was  the house band at the Legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey. He is now one of the most sought after studio musician / vocalist in New York and the Jersey Shore. His vocal and songwriting talents are evident in "Don't Shoot the Messenger". Vinny has also completed the title song "Just Lovers" for the movie and soundtrack album.

If you are familiar with the great music scene that put Asbury Park on the map.  You know about the brilliant song writing ability of Lance Larson.  If you don't believe me then just listen to one of his songs and judge for yourself. Try an old favorite or something off of his new CD

We have just placed three songs in the BMW racing video titled "M Power E46" by Greener Grass Productions, a production company based in Paris.

Look for a new kiosk type video presentation for Sony'sİ new digital video projector, it will be at most of the major airports in the U.S. (we supplied the music)

Once again, the hugely talented Robert Reilly is featured in this weeks Billboard Magazine's Broadband Talent Net. "Come Into My House" by Robert is #1 for Radio Play - Favorite Song Requests. It is in the "Pop, Rock" Genre. We have a sample of Robert, who is this month's featured artist, a great Rock/Americana track named  "Crush". Robert is the featured artist in the movie "Just Lovers" with three songs on the soundtrack

Cinecall Soundtracks was nominated for the "Best New Thing" @ the Jersey Shore by The Asbury Park Music Awards.

We have eliminated the one button mail service, due to the incredible amount of spam that was sent to us because of programs that search for e-mail links. So now you must type in @ where the *at* is in the address. Another small step backwards because of the abuse that corporate jerks and virus miscreants cause us to take.  E-mail us at (mail*at*cinecall.com)  if it we neglect this task.

We realize that it has been more than four years since the September 11th attack. The delayed stress that is felt by many Americans can be subtle and mask itself in many ways. Please, be aware of other people. We are closer now as a nation then we have ever been. Watch out for your brothers and sisters. We know that one of the best way to overcome the helpless feeling that you may experience is to give blood at the Red Cross or your local hospital. The great response that happened after the attack will not last forever. Please donate blood because of the need that  has to be filled, not only today, but in the future months (and years)
